Articles

Within Heavana, the products and services that you offer to customers, (e.g. floral tributes or decedent redressing) are known as articles.

Think of them collectively as a catalogue. When creating a funeral or plan, you add the articles (products and services) to them.

While you aren't required to use articles (you can create funerals entirely from scratch), they do offer some significant benefits, namely reuse and consistency.

Management

To manage the articles in your organization... click here.

The article management page contains a table, which lists each of the articles in your organization's catalogue.

You can filter and / or sort the results as needed.

Create an article

To create an article, click on the "Create article" link in the sidebar. You'll then need to complete the following fields in the resulting form:

  1. Category - choose from the list, or select "Other".
  2. Price - including any VAT, GST or sales tax.
  3. Title - the name of the product or service.
  4. Description - a summary of the article (not visible to customers).

New articles are "Active". This status means that they can be used by both plans and funerals.

Edit an article

To edit an existing article, click the "Edit article" option in the context menu associated with the article. Then, in the pop-up form, revise the same set of fields that were described in the "Create an article" section.

Existing articles can also be marked as "Archived". When an article is archived, it remains available for reference, however it cannot be added to a plan or funeral.

Delete an article

To remove an article, click the "Delete article" option in the context menu associated with the article. Then, confirm your decision.

Restrictions

In order to delete an article, it must not be in use by any plans. If the article is in use, then you can do one of the following:

  1. Archive the article.
  2. Delete the article from the plans, and then delete the article itself.
